USC stuns No. 2 Ohio State 30-18 at the Coliseum for the biggest win of Lincoln Riley's tenure
Freshman Trent Mosley had a 69-yard touchdown on the second play as USC upset No. 2 Ohio State 30-18 for the biggest win of Lincoln Riley's tenure.

One week after hitting rock bottom, USC pulled off the upset of the season. The Trojans beat No. 2 Ohio State 30-18 on a rainy Halloween night at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
It was the biggest win of Lincoln Riley's five seasons as coach. USC had never beaten a top-12 team under him. Fans stormed the field after the Trojans beat a top-five opponent at home for the first time since 2015.
Last Saturday USC managed just seven points in a 24-7 loss at Wisconsin, the fewest ever by a Riley offense.
A freshman sets the tone
Trent Mosley needed only two plays to make his mark. The freshman caught a pass behind the line of scrimmage and raced 69 yards for a touchdown. Ohio State had not allowed a play longer than 36 yards all season.
Mosley later broke a 44-yard punt return to set up a 9-yard touchdown run by Waymond Jordan. He finished with five catches for 101 yards.
Jayden Maiava threw for 222 yards and a touchdown. USC led 20-9 at halftime.
Bowman's hurdle seals it
Ohio State gained 192 yards on its first five drives but settled for three field goals. The Buckeyes even reached the USC 1 before halftime without scoring a touchdown.
After an Isaiah West fumble in the second half, freshman tight end Mark Bowman hurdled a defender and broke several tackles on a 70-yard catch. King Miller ran it in for a 27-9 lead.
Freshman Luke Fahey made his first career start for Ohio State in place of injured Julian Sayin. He threw for 260 yards but completed just 21 of 38 passes. Bo Jackson ran for 121 yards.
Jeremiah Smith had 10 catches for 83 yards. His 1-yard touchdown catch with 2:12 left was the first Ohio State touchdown of the night. USC recovered the onside kick and added its third field goal.
Two losses for the Buckeyes
Ohio State fell to 6-2. It is the first time since 2011 that the Buckeyes have lost twice this early in a season. They are now 58-2 against unranked teams under coach Ryan Day.
USC improved to 7-2. The Trojans have a bye before visiting Indiana on Nov. 14. Ohio State hosts Oregon next Saturday.
