Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin out indefinitely with throwing arm injury
Ryan Day says the Buckeyes plan to play the rest of the season and the postseason without last year's Heisman finalist.

Ohio State will have to finish its season without its star quarterback.
Coach Ryan Day said Tuesday that Julian Sayin is out "indefinitely" with an injury to his throwing arm. Day did not give a timeline but said the Buckeyes are planning to move forward without him for the rest of the year, including the postseason.
How it happened
Sayin hurt his right arm in the fourth quarter of Saturday's 19-15 win at Indiana. He was sacked by Mario Landino, who hit his right shoulder and forced a fumble. Sayin later came out of the locker room with his arm in a sling.
Before the injury he threw two touchdown passes in the game. One was a 38-yarder to Jeremiah Smith on fourth-and-1 early in the fourth quarter that put Ohio State ahead 19-7.
Sayin was a Heisman finalist last season in his first year as the starter. This season he has completed 71.2% of his passes for 1,772 yards with 17 touchdowns and just two interceptions.
Who plays next
True freshman Luke Fahey has been the backup all season. Day said sophomore Tavien St. Clair will also get first-team snaps this week.
"We're going to play the guy that gives us the best chance to win," Day said. "Going into the last few games, Luke's been ahead of Tavien in terms of what we've seen, but now that we have a bye week, these guys are both going to get a lot of reps."
Fahey is a three-star recruit from Mission Viejo, California. He has completed 9 of 13 passes this season for 203 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
His teammates are behind him. "We wouldn't have Fahey out there if we didn't have full trust in him," senior guard Luke Montgomery said after the Indiana game.
Ohio State is off this weekend before visiting No. 19 USC on Oct. 31.
