Selma Blair arrested after alleged assault of Delta flight crew
Selma Blair was arrested after allegedly punching and biting flight attendants on a Delta flight to JFK. Her rep says a medical emergency led to the conduct.

Selma Blair was arrested after a chaotic landing at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport. Authorities say the actress allegedly attacked crew members on a Delta flight and later struck a nurse and a Port Authority officer.
What authorities say happened in the air
Blair was on a Sunday Delta flight bound for JFK when she allegedly tried to open an aircraft door mid-flight. That attempt reportedly sparked a fight with the cabin crew.
According to reports she punched one flight attendant and bit another. Dispatch audio obtained by outlets asked for medical help at the gate after notes of a bloody nose and bite marks. Port Authority officials said a pair of flight attendants reported injuries and that one of them went to a hospital.
Witnesses also described Blair bashing her head against a bulkhead. Crew members put her in restraints before the plane landed and officers were waiting at the gate. Audio from the cabin exit captures her screaming as an alarm rings.
Arrests and more alleged assaults on the ground
Officers took Blair into custody after the plane arrived and then brought her to a hospital for evaluation. Law enforcement says that while she was in an ambulance she repeatedly kicked a Port Authority officer in the head.
Once there she allegedly attacked a nurse and that nurse has filed charges. The state has charged Blair with two counts of assault: one involving the officer and one involving the nurse. The FBI is investigating the in-flight incident.
What her team and Delta say
Blair's representative said a medical emergency sparked the alleged behavior. The rep said she got immediate medical attention after landing and was in stable condition. It was not clear what caused the emergency.
Delta said unruly or unlawful conduct is never allowed and put customer and crew safety first. The airline also said it has no record of Blair trying to open a door mid-flight.
Blair has had a prior in-flight scare. In 2016 she was taken off a plane by stretcher after an outburst. She was last seen in public on Oct. 1 at an Anti-Defamation League gathering in New York.
