Two people are behind bars in the death of Christina Lynn Downer, the sister of "Saturday Night Live" writer Jimmy Fowlie. One of them is the man she had been dating.

Jail records list Delorean Bijon Brandon, Downer's boyfriend, plus Kaylee Nicole Markowski, who is described as his alleged accomplice. Both were taken into custody on Oct. 29. A judge set bail for each of them at $2 million.

What police are saying

The Los Angeles Police Department gave few details in a statement. It said the pair allegedly killed Downer and then got rid of her body.

According to police, Brandon had claimed that Downer moved out of the Koreatown apartment they shared and left everything behind. That included her car and her dog.

The case changed hands after Downer's phone turned up on the shore in Santa Monica. Homicide detectives then took over what had been a missing person investigation.

A search in the desert

The arrests came a few weeks after investigators served a search warrant at an Airbnb rental in Joshua Tree. Sheriff's deputies in San Bernardino County assisted with that search. K-9 teams were also brought in.

A tangled history

Downer sought a restraining order against Markowski in 2024. Brandon also went to court on his own to seek restraining orders against her. Markowski had previously dated Brandon.

Downer was last seen in Koreatown in December 2025. She was reported missing that month when her former husband asked police to check on her.

Her brother feared the worst

Back in April Fowlie posted on Instagram that he believed she had died, writing that she was "no longer alive." At the time police pushed back. They said the circumstances were suspicious but that Downer had not been found and the case had not been reclassified as a homicide.

Fowlie has also said he believes someone took over his sister's social media accounts in the weeks before she died.
