Jorge Posada says he does not feel welcome with the Yankees
The five-time World Series champion says a tough final season in 2011 still hangs over him. He also backed Brian Cashman and Aaron Boone.

Jorge Posada helped the New York Yankees win five World Series titles. He says he still does not feel at home with the team.
Asked on the New York Post podcast The Show if he could ever return to the organization, the former catcher did not hold back. "I mean, I could, but I don't think they want me there, to tell you the truth," he said.
"I don't feel welcome when I go there, you know?" Posada added.
A hard final season
Posada, 56, spent all 17 years of his career with the Yankees. He was a five-time All-Star and a key part of the Core Four era with Derek Jeter.
His last season in 2011 was rocky. The team moved him off catcher and he clashed with the club over playing time as a part-time designated hitter.
"My last season of my career was a really tough one," Posada said.
Backing Cashman and Boone
Even so, Posada defended general manager Brian Cashman and manager Aaron Boone. "It's not on Boonie, it's not on Cash," he said.
He said players need to be held accountable. "You didn't run to first base? Get him out of the game," he said.
Life after the Bronx
Posada worked in the Miami Marlins front office with Jeter from 2019 to 2022. This year he was the bench coach for Team Italy at the World Baseball Classic.
"I'm very honest," Posada said of why he speaks his mind.
