Campus police take a UMich student into custody after she pushed a Jewish conservative activist to the ground
A University of Michigan student was arrested after a viral clip showed her shoving conservative influencer Lizzy Benichou in a fight over Islam.

A University of Michigan student was taken into custody Sunday after a viral clip showed her getting physical with two people during a shouting match about Islam. One of them was a Jewish conservative activist she knocked to the ground.
The student, whose name has not been released, walked up to a man seated at a table. His sign posed the question, "Is Islam Compatible with the West?"
She told him the sign was "f***ing stupid" and demanded to see their "f***ing permit." She then clapped her hands right in front of his face, which made him flinch backward.
"I should've killed you"
In the footage she insists to the people recording her that she never laid a hand on the man. She also labels the crowd around her "f***ing anti-Muslim people."
She then turned her attention to conservative influencer Lizzy Benichou. Benichou asked whether her outfit would be acceptable in Iran.
That question set her off. The student pushed Benichou down to the ground and officers moved in to arrest her.
As she was being taken away she shouted at Benichou, "I should've f***ing killed you when I had the f***ing chance."
What happens next
Officers booked her and then let her go the same day, campus police said.
Prosecutors in Washtenaw County will now get the file so they can decide whether to bring charges. They added that the victim, who has no ties to the school, was treated for her injuries and released.
