U2 will headline the NFL's first Thanksgiving Eve halftime show at Packers-Rams on Netflix
The band returns to an NFL halftime stage on Nov. 25 at SoFi Stadium for the first Thanksgiving Eve game in league history.

The NFL's first game on the night before Thanksgiving is getting a headliner to match.
The league announced Tuesday that U2 will play the halftime show when the Green Bay Packers face the Los Angeles Rams on Wednesday, Nov. 25. The game streams on Netflix from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
SoFi Stadium is also the site of Super Bowl LXI. That halftime performer has not been announced yet.
Back on a big NFL stage
U2 is no stranger to football's biggest moments. The Irish band played the Super Bowl XXXVI halftime show in February 2002, just months after the Sept. 11 attacks. Bono opened his jacket to reveal an American flag lining as the band played "Beautiful Day" and "MLK" before closing with "Where the Streets Have No Name."
Holiday halftime shows have turned into big events of their own. Dolly Parton performed in a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader outfit on Thanksgiving in 2023. Shaboozey wore a Detroit Lions jacket for his set in 2024. Netflix brought Beyoncé to its Christmas Day game in 2024 and Snoop Dogg the following year.
A new album first
The show lands less than two weeks after U2 releases its 16th studio album. "Carnaval de Luz" is due Nov. 13 and the band has already put out three singles from it: "Street of Dreams," "Silencio" and "The Greatest Show on Earth."
U2 plans a world tour in 2027 to support the record.
