Stephen Curry scores 44 points as the Warriors beat the Timberwolves 119-114 for a second straight win
Stephen Curry scored 44 points in Minneapolis to give Golden State a second straight win after an 0-3 start. It was his 46th 40-point game since turning 30.

Stephen Curry is 38 years old and still finding new ways to rewrite the record book. The Golden State star scored 44 points Wednesday night in Minneapolis as the Warriors held off the Minnesota Timberwolves 119-114 for their second straight win.
It was the 46th time Curry has scored 40 or more since his 30th birthday. No player in NBA history has done it more often at that age. He made all 16 of his free throws and kept the Timberwolves chasing from the opening minutes.
Curry had 23 points by halftime and hit five 3-pointers before the break. One of them came from about 31 feet. Golden State built a lead as large as 24 points before Minnesota made a late push.
A road trip that turned around
The Warriors opened the season 0-3 and the questions came fast. Two nights later they look like a different team. They beat the Denver Nuggets on Monday and followed it with this win to finish a three-game road trip 2-1.
"You like learning lessons while you're winning," Curry said after the game. "The 2-1 road trip is great."
He also admitted the early hole had weighed on the group. "There's a slight bit of relief," he said.
Minnesota without Edwards
The Timberwolves played their first game without Anthony Edwards, who had an arthroscopic procedure on his right knee. Without their leading scorer they struggled to keep pace for most of the night before cutting into the deficit in the fourth quarter.
Golden State rookie Yaxel Lendeborg added 26 points and nine rebounds, though he was hard on himself after committing seven turnovers.
What comes next
The Warriors now head home for a six-game homestand that opens Friday against Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers. If Curry keeps shooting like this the early 0-3 start may be a distant memory by the time it ends.
