Selma Blair's camp is pushing back days after the actress was arrested following a Delta flight. Her spokesperson now says what happened in the air was a health crisis and nothing she meant to do.

A medical emergency, her rep says

In a statement given to PEOPLE, the rep said Blair suffered a medical emergency during the trip. The spokesperson also insisted she never tried to open the aircraft door and stressed that she did not intend to harm anyone.

What she is accused of

Blair was arrested after she allegedly struck one flight attendant and bit another on the Los Angeles to New York flight. Afterward she was brought to a hospital. She is accused of kicking an officer during that ride. Once she arrived she allegedly kicked a nurse too.

She now faces two assault counts. She entered a plea of not guilty.

Her MS and a second condition

The spokesperson called any suggestion that Blair does not really have multiple sclerosis "outrageous." While she has made remarkable progress with her symptoms, the rep said, she still lives with daily pain and has good days along with bad ones.

According to the statement, Blair also has pseudobulbar affect. The rep described it as a neurological condition that stems from her MS and shapes how a medical episode looks to strangers who do not know her.

That is also why she flies with a service dog that never leaves her side. The rep complained that authorities separated her from the dog.

Scout is back with her team

Scout, her English Red Fox Labrador, was collected at JFK by her lawyer after the arrest.

A plea for patience

The statement pointed to Blair's steady acting work and her advocacy for people with disabilities as well as for the Jewish community. It closed by saying there is far more to the story than has come out so far. The rep asked the public to weigh all of the facts before judging her in court or anywhere else.
