Ravens hand undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano his first NFL start on Thursday night
With Lamar Jackson headed to IR, undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano will start Thursday night against Jacksonville after staying ready in his living room.

Joe Fagnano used to run plays in his living room. Now he gets to run them in prime time.
Ravens coach Jesse Minter named the undrafted rookie his starting quarterback for Thursday night's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Fagnano is only the second undrafted rookie quarterback to start for Baltimore in the team's 32-year history. "It's special," he said. "It's really the only way I can think about it."
How he got here
Fagnano spent the whole season as the No. 3 quarterback. His chance came Sunday in a 36-10 loss at Buffalo.
Lamar Jackson hurt his right thumb on his first play back from an ankle injury. Backup Tyler Huntley then left with a toe injury.
Jackson is headed to injured reserve with what could be a season-ending injury. Huntley may also land on IR.
In his NFL debut Fagnano went 10 of 21 for 91 yards with one interception.
Ready in the living room
To stay sharp all season Fagnano held walk-throughs at home with his wife Lydia.
"She probably knows the playbook just as well as us at this point," he said.
He also got banged up Sunday and wore a brace on his right ankle at Tuesday's practice. "Every game you got bumps and bruises," he said. "It feels good, though."
Minter likes what he has seen. "He's cool, calm and collected," the coach said. "He doesn't really get rattled."
A tall task
Fagnano will be the first undrafted quarterback to make his first career start in prime time since Cooper Rush did it for Dallas in 2021.
The Ravens are 4-4 and have lost three straight. Jacksonville comes in at 5-2.
Baltimore is a 10-point home underdog. That is its biggest home spread in 11 years.
Newly added Austin Reed and Kedon Slovis will back him up. The Ravens also put kicker Tyler Loop on IR with a groin injury. Jake Moody will kick Thursday.
