Lamar Jackson is back. The Baltimore Ravens quarterback will play Sunday at the Buffalo Bills after missing the last three games with a high ankle sprain. He said the pain in his left ankle is now "bearable."

The two-time NFL Most Valuable Player was a full participant in all three practices this week. It was the first time that happened since he hurt the ankle in a win over the Tennessee Titans 26 days ago.

"I feel like I'm no longer a statue," Jackson said after Friday's practice. "I'm able to move around a little better. I can give it a shot."

Not quite full speed

Jackson was never seen running at full speed during the parts of practice open to reporters. He did not favor the ankle when he jogged, though he had it taped for every session. He would not put a percentage on how he feels. Asked how it compares to last week, he said, "It's better. It's better."

Last week he looked close to returning before he was ruled out a day ahead of the loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. "I woke up [last Saturday], my ankle was swollen, so that pretty much it did it," he said.

Jackson has also heard from fans online who question why he sat out. His answer was simple. "Why would you second guess me?"

A team that needs him

Baltimore has lost two straight and sits in last place in the AFC North at 4-3. In 14 quarters with Jackson this season the Ravens scored 14 touchdowns. In 14 quarters with Tyler Huntley in his place they scored five and were shut out in the second half of each of the last two games.

"The sense of urgency is extremely high," Jackson said. "We're trying to get back to where we should be."

Coach Jesse Minter expects the old Jackson to show up. "I think he'll look like Lamar Jackson," Minter said. "I think we'll see a great version of Lamar."

Before the injury Jackson ranked third in the league in QBR with six touchdown passes against one interception. He will face a Bills team that is 5-1, has won three straight against Baltimore in Buffalo and ranks 31st against the pass.
