Lamar Jackson was back on the practice field Wednesday, but the Baltimore Ravens are not ready to say whether he will play Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.

It was the first on-field work for the two-time MVP since he sprained his left ankle 17 days ago. He was still favoring the ankle afterward and walked into the team facility with a noticeable limp.

Coach Jesse Minter listed Jackson as limited and said he "was able to get in a little bit of work and be involved in preparation." Minter added that Jackson took part in some team drills.

"Lamar wants to play"

"There's nobody that wants to be out there more than Lamar," Minter said. "Lamar wants to play. But at the same time, you got to be healthy enough to play."

Jackson got hurt late in the first half of a 24-18 win over the Tennessee Titans on Oct. 4. He had missed the last two games and six straight practices before Wednesday.

Tyler Huntley has started in his place. He led a comeback win at Atlanta and then struggled in Sunday's loss at Cleveland.

A big difference with No. 8

The numbers show how much Baltimore misses him. In 14 quarters with Jackson this season, the Ravens have scored 116 points and 14 offensive touchdowns. In 10 quarters without him, they have 40 points and four touchdowns.

Jackson has owned the Bengals. Baltimore is 11-2 against Cincinnati with him as the starter since 2018, while going 0-3 against the Bengals without him over that span.

"He is working every day, doing what he needs to do to get back on the field," wide receiver Zay Flowers said.

The Ravens are 4-2 and the Bengals are 3-2 heading into Sunday's AFC North showdown. "When it's ready for him to be able to play and we feel like that's the best thing to do, that's what we'll do," Minter said.
