Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs face hard questions after a 20-3 loss in Seattle
Kansas City managed just three points against Seattle's top-ranked defense and fans are asking whether other teams can copy the Seahawks' plan.

Patrick Mahomes is one of the top searches in the country today after the Kansas City Chiefs fell 20-3 to the Seattle Seahawks, a result that Arrowhead Pride called possibly the worst performance of the Andy Reid and Mahomes era.
The loss dropped Kansas City to 5-1 and left the offense without a touchdown for the full 60 minutes. Seattle's defense came into the week ranked second in the league in expected points added against both the run and the pass.
That is the question Chiefs fans keep asking this week: did Seattle just hand the rest of the league a blueprint? Analysts at Arrowhead Pride argue the recipe only works for a defense that is elite against the run and the pass at the same time and few teams fit that bill.
What went wrong
The Athletic and the Kansas City Star both singled out problems that showed up in Seattle, from the pass protection in front of Mahomes to concerns around defensive tackle Chris Jones and kicker Harrison Butker.
Some of those issues can be fixed with scheme changes and health. Others, like the lack of a dependable deep threat, may follow the Chiefs for the rest of the season.
What comes next
Kansas City still sits near the top of the AFC and Reid's teams have a long history of bouncing back after ugly losses. The next few weeks will show whether Seattle found a real weakness or simply had the right defense on the right day.
