Patrick Mahomes earns his 100th win in his 131st start to match Tom Brady's pace
The Chiefs quarterback joked about Brady after Sunday's 22-6 win over the Chargers kept Kansas City unbeaten and gave him 100 regular-season wins.

Patrick Mahomes could not resist a joke.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback earned his 100th regular-season win on Sunday in a 22-6 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. It came in his 131st start. That ties Tom Brady for the fewest starts needed to reach 100 wins since 1950.
"I'm like, 'When did Tom lose another game?'" Mahomes said with a laugh. "I feel like every game I win, I tie him."
Talking about the GOAT
Mahomes is in his 10th season and the comparisons to Brady have followed him for years. Like Brady in New England he has led a dynasty, winning three Super Bowls before he turned 30.
"In all seriousness, it's always an honor to be in any conversation, as far as winning [games], with him," Mahomes said. "That's the GOAT. He knows how to win football [games] better than anyone, really."
Brady finished with 251 regular-season wins and seven Super Bowl rings. Mahomes knows that chase is a long one.
"I'm only 31," he said. "He played until [he was] 45, so that's a long way away."
Winning without the flash
Kansas City is 5-0 and the only unbeaten team in the AFC. The Chiefs won on Sunday without their top two receivers. Rashee Rice has a right hamstring injury and Tyquan Thornton dislocated his left ankle.
Mahomes was perfect in the first half when he was not pressured, going 13 for 13 for 140 yards. He completed passes to eight teammates. Xavier Worthy had a season-high seven catches for 73 yards. Travis Kelce and Noah Gray combined for 106 receiving yards.
"As I've gone throughout my career, I think I've gotten better and better at winning," Mahomes said. "It's not always pretty."
A year after the knee injury
Beating the Chargers carried extra weight. The last time the teams met, on Dec. 14 of last season, Mahomes tore the ACL and LCL in his left knee in a loss that knocked Kansas City out of playoff contention.
"I try to have fun out there and enjoy the wins," he said. "You never know when it's going to be your last one."
His teammates are not shy about where they rank him. Right guard Trey Smith called Mahomes "the best quarterback of all time."
"We're lucky to have him," coach Andy Reid said. "He does a heck of a job playing. He's a great player, a great leader."
