Ohio State led 14-0. Then Oregon took over the Horseshoe.

Dierre Hill Jr. ran for two touchdowns and Dylan Raiola threw for 257 yards as Oregon rallied to beat No. 11 Ohio State 41-28 on Saturday in Columbus. The Ducks scored 38 straight points after falling behind early.

The Buckeyes have now lost two games in a row in the regular season for the first time since November 2011. It is also the first time since October 1992 that they have lost back-to-back games to unranked opponents.

The fake punt that flipped the game

Bo Jackson ran for touchdowns of 16 and 8 yards to put Ohio State up 14-0 late in the first quarter. Oregon answered with a Gage Hurych field goal and then gambled on fourth-and-9 from its own 31 late in the half.

Linebacker Teitum Tuioti took the snap on a punt formation and found fellow linebacker Matayo Uiagalelei for a 30-yard gain. Hill scored from 9 yards out six plays later. Tight end Jamari Johnson then ran in from 2 yards on the last play of the half to give Oregon a 17-14 lead.

Hill opened the third quarter with a 48-yard touchdown run in which he broke three tackles. Dakorien Moore later made a one-handed 11-yard touchdown catch in the back corner of the end zone to make it 31-14.

Trouble in Columbus

Many of the 103,551 fans at Ohio Stadium had left by the middle of the fourth quarter. The Buckeyes scored two late touchdowns after trailing 38-14.

Luke Fahey completed 36 of 50 passes for 360 yards with a touchdown and an interception in his second start in place of the injured Julian Sayin. Jeremiah Smith had seven catches for 133 yards and a touchdown and was seen yelling on the sideline at the start of the fourth quarter.

Ohio State had won 140 straight home games when leading by at least 14 points. The Buckeyes opened the season No. 1 in the AP poll and now fall to 6-3 with their playoff hopes in serious danger.

Payback for the Rose Bowl

The win was a measure of revenge for Dan Lanning and the Ducks after Ohio State beat them 41-21 in the Rose Bowl on the way to the national title two seasons ago.

Oregon improved to 6-3 and has won two straight since losing starting quarterback Dante Moore to a season-ending concussion. The Ducks host Michigan next Saturday while Ohio State hosts Northwestern.
