Georgia answered its upset loss in a big way. The No. 3 Bulldogs forced four turnovers and beat No. 17 Florida 27-8 on Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

The rivalry has been played in Jacksonville almost every year since 1933. It moved to Atlanta this season for the first time because of a $1.4 billion renovation of the stadium in Jacksonville.

It came two weeks after Georgia lost 27-24 at home to unranked Auburn. This time the Bulldogs held Florida to 54 rushing yards and sacked the Gators four times.

Turnovers decide it

Florida started Aaron Philo at quarterback in his return from a throwing shoulder injury. On the Gators' first drive he threw a wild underhand pass while falling that Ellis Robinson IV intercepted. Nate Frazier later scored on a 1-yard run for a 7-0 lead.

Demello Jones grabbed a deflected pass for the second interception. That set up a 28-yard field goal by Peyton Woodring.

Tramell Jones Jr. replaced Philo but the mistakes kept coming. Bo Walker ran for a 1-yard touchdown. Then linebacker Quintavius Johnson hit Jones from behind to force a fumble and Chris Cole returned it 66 yards for a 24-0 halftime lead.

Braylon Conley added a third interception at the goal line in the third quarter.

Florida's scoring streak survives

Georgia shut out Florida through three quarters. Jones scored on a 2-yard run and threw a two-point pass to Dallas Wilson with 6:59 left. That kept alive Florida's NCAA-record streak of 481 straight games with points.

"The Dogs didn't beat the Dogs today," Georgia coach Kirby Smart said.

Georgia ran for 217 yards and has now beaten Florida six straight times. It is the Bulldogs' best run in the series since six in a row from 1978 to 1983. It was coach Jon Sumrall's first game against Georgia with the Gators.

Next year's game moves to Tampa before returning to Jacksonville in 2028.
