Melissa McCarthy wants her new true crime role to do more than entertain viewers.
The actress was stopped at LAX on Monday and talked about "The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey." She said she hopes the miniseries pushes officials to open a new investigation into the killing, which has gone unsolved for decades.
Melissa plays Patsy Ramsey, the mother of JonBenét, in the series.
She also said she hopes the show helps people feel more compassion for the real families caught up in true crime cases.
In the clip she says many people have grown far too casual about real-life tragedies and treat them as if they were a sport to watch from the stands.
