Kevin Hart wants a judge to stop his former assistant from putting Montia Sabbag on the stand. Sabbag is the woman from the comedian's notorious sex tape.

Hart filed new papers in his legal fight with Miesha Shakes. She worked for him from 2017 until 2020. His filing came only days after she listed Sabbag as someone who might testify.

Why Sabbag was named

Shakes said Sabbag could speak about the tape scandal. She could also talk about her own later court fight with Hart over the video.

Hart sued Shakes over comments she made about his private life during a sit-down with blogger Tasha K. He says the secrecy deal she agreed to on her way out of his business was broken. Shakes says the agreement cannot be enforced because Hart allegedly failed to hold up his end of their deal.

Hart's objections

In the new filing Hart says Shakes never conferred with his lawyers before turning in her witness list. He argues that was improper.

He also claims she named Sabbag just to humiliate him and stir up a scandal. Sabbag has no connection to the dispute, he says. Hart wants the court to bar any witness who is not relevant.

By his account the only people who matter here are himself, Shakes and Tasha K. Anyone else should be kept out unless Shakes can show their testimony bears on the issues.

Hart says the interview hurt his reputation. He is asking for damages in an amount he has not specified. None of the claims has been decided in court.
