Wladimir Klitschko wins temporary control of Hayden Panettiere's estate as daughter Kaya joins the hearing
Kaya briefly appeared by video to answer the judge's questions. Her father wants help recovering property he says was taken.

A judge has given Wladimir Klitschko temporary guardianship over the estate of his late ex Hayden Panettiere and their daughter made a brief appearance at the hearing.
Kaya joined the Thursday hearing remotely. Her father stayed off camera while Kaya confirmed her identity for the judge and said he was with her. Dressed simply with her hair tied back, she came across as poised.
Missing property
Klitschko's lawyer laid out additional powers he is seeking. Among them is authority to bring in police to track down belongings he believes someone outside the family took. He believes some of Panettiere's jewelry may have been pawned.
The court approved the temporary arrangement and excused Kaya from the follow-up hearing set for December.
Why it matters
Panettiere died without a will, which makes Kaya the sole beneficiary of her estate. Klitschko filed for temporary guardianship in September, arguing that quick action was needed to keep the estate's property from being lost or damaged.
The actress died Aug. 16 in South Carolina of a drug overdose. The actress and the former heavyweight champion got together in 2008. Their daughter was born in 2014. After they separated in 2018 a court later gave Klitschko full custody.
