Kelly Clarkson says Brooklyn shop owner lied about the $15,000 bird
Kelly Clarkson hit back at Art of Play after the Brooklyn shop said its singing bird was never for sale. She says the owner quoted her $15,000 for it.

Kelly Clarkson is not letting the Brooklyn store have the last word. The singer went back on social media to dispute the store's version of her visit and she did not hold back.
The price tag she says she heard
Art of Play had said its mechanical singing bird was never on the market. Clarkson remembers it differently. She says the owner first told her the piece could be hers for $15,000.
According to Clarkson the owner then switched gears and offered to track down something similar for her instead. She says none of that matches what the shop is now telling the public.
Clarkson also described the owner as rude and condescending during the exchange. She summed up her feelings in one sharp line: "So you're not only rude, you're also a liar."
What the store says
The shop has its own story. It says the bird, which goes by the name Molly, is fixed to the wall and is part of the magic shows held there. In its telling Molly has never been for sale at any price.
Taking on the small business angle
Clarkson also rejected any suggestion that she does not back small businesses. She pointed out that she was shopping at a small business when the whole thing happened.
She argued that being a small shop does not give anyone permission to treat a customer poorly. The former coach on "The Voice" closed her message with a parting shot that praised the store itself while knocking the person running it.
How the feud began
The spat started when Clarkson shared that she had gone to the shop planning to buy several items. She said a worker seemed to push her toward a cheaper option rather than take her plans seriously.
She compared the moment to the famous boutique scene in "Pretty Woman" where Julia Roberts is snubbed by sales staff. The store pushed back and now Clarkson has answered again. Neither side appears ready to drop it.
