Hustles
Two teens turned lake-weed cleanup into summer work
Joseph Weinberger and Declan Pivnicka started clearing lake weeds with a rake. They tell Upflip dorm-room bookings passed $100,000.

Joseph Weinberger and Declan Pivnicka were teenagers looking for summer money around a local lake. Seaweed removal was not the plan.
One neighbor wanted a pier. Another wanted thick weeds pulled off the shore. They used a garden rake, laundry bags and trial and error, then kept the jobs that followed.
Posts of the work drew calls from farther away. They say they booked more than $100,000 from a college dorm room, including homeowner shoreline cleanups and HOA lake work.
A rake and a shoreline
On Upflip they walk through a service most people do not think to sell: showing up, pulling weeds and getting paid by the property.
The booking total is theirs. The business is two neighbors' requests that turned into a route.
