Jets place nose tackle T'Vondre Sweat on injured reserve with a knee sprain
The Jets will be without starting nose tackle T'Vondre Sweat for at least four games. The knee sprain is not considered season-ending.

The New York Jets will be without starting nose tackle T'Vondre Sweat for at least the next four games. The team placed him on injured reserve Saturday with a knee sprain.
There is some good news for Sweat. The injury is not considered season-ending. He will be eligible to return Nov. 29 against the Miami Dolphins.
Sweat had already been ruled out for Sunday's home game against the Las Vegas Raiders at MetLife Stadium. He was hurt last Sunday.
Bad timing for the run defense
The loss of the 366-pound run stuffer comes at a rough time. The Jets are allowing 127.7 rushing yards per game, which ranks 24th in the NFL.
Rookie Darrell Jackson Jr., a fourth-round pick from Florida State, is expected to take his place in the lineup.
More bodies needed up front
New York is 2-5 and has lost two straight. Rookie edge rusher David Bailey is doubtful for Sunday with a groin injury.
To fill out the game-day roster, the Jets signed Payton Page and elevated Quinton Bell from the practice squad. They were already without defensive tackle David Onyemata, who went on injured reserve in Week 3 after core muscle surgery.
Sweat came over in an offseason trade with the Tennessee Titans. After missing part of training camp with a hamstring injury, he had played in all seven games with 17 total tackles and two tackles for loss.
