Heidi Klum turned herself into a giant severed hand for her 25th Halloween party and joked it took 'about 10 or 20 hands' to make
The queen of Halloween became a life-size copy of her own left hand, wedding ring and Tom tattoo included, for her 25th party in New York on Saturday night.

Every year the internet waits to see what Heidi Klum will become on Halloween. This year the answer was a hand. A very big, very bloody hand.
The supermodel and TV host threw her 25th annual Halloween bash in Manhattan's East Village on Saturday night, Oct. 31. She rolled up on the back of a truck plastered with red danger signs. A crew in yellow hazmat suits and a few blood-spattered helpers guided her inside as if she were a crime scene on the move.
Underneath all that latex was a full-size copy of her own left hand, chopped off at the wrist. Her face peeked out from the bloody stump. Her legs ran down through the fingers. The red nail polish popped under the camera flashes.
The details were very personal
Klum did not pick just any hand. The prosthetic copied her real one right down to her green stone wedding ring and the small Tom tattoo on her finger, which she got the day she married Tokio Hotel guitarist Tom Kaulitz. Her husband missed the party because his band was on tour in Germany.
She said the look took months of planning and roughly six hours to get into. When reporters asked how many people helped build it she laughed that it took a lot of hands to make one hand. Her best guess was somewhere between 10 and 20.
Klum also admitted the costume has a short shelf life. She explained that once the night ends the whole thing gets peeled off and rinsed away in the shower.
A guest list in full costume
Her kids Leni, Johan and Lou came along for the fun. Neil Patrick Harris and husband David Burtka dressed as the creepy twins from The Shining. Kyle MacLachlan showed up as a classic Flintstones villain. James Charles spent about seven and a half hours becoming Yzma from The Emperor's New Groove. Taylor Momsen turned into rock guitarist Angus Young and pop star Jade Thirlwall arrived as a stone angel statue.
The hand joins a long line of over-the-top Klum creations. Fans still talk about her giant worm, her Fiona from Shrek, her E.T. and her Jessica Rabbit. Last year she went as Medusa. She had teased this one for a week, so the reveal felt like a holiday of its own.
After 25 parties the bar keeps getting higher. Somehow she keeps clearing it.
