Drake's team denies stealing the Janice STFU chorus and calls the suit a cash grab
Drake's representatives deny a producer's claim that the Janice STFU hook was copied from a demo and call the copyright suit a money grab.

Drake's camp is pushing back hard against a lawsuit that says he stole the chorus of his hit "Janice STFU." A representative calls the whole case a money grab.
What the producer claims
Aviel Calev Hirschfield, who works under the name Avi, filed papers Friday accusing the rapper of lifting that hook. Avi says he cut the part early in 2026 and passed it to people in Drake's production circle. He claims the May release used the same words and tune.
He says he handed over time-stamped recordings as proof. Credit and royalties never followed, he alleges.
The denial
A spokesperson for Drake said the allegations are categorically denied with no truth to them at all.
The same statement called the suit a manufactured and baseless attempt to cash in on Drake's name. It added that Drake wrote the song and has no connection to or knowledge of the plaintiff.
Drake's side is standing on that denial. Nothing in the public record has resolved the dispute yet.
