The Chargers say Khalil Mack is staying put despite an 0-7 start
Los Angeles has told teams Khalil Mack, Justin Herbert and Ladd McConkey are not available before Tuesday's NFL trade deadline.

Winless does not mean the Los Angeles Chargers are sellers.
Despite an 0-7 record the Chargers have told rival clubs they have no interest in trading edge rusher Khalil Mack before Tuesday's 4 p.m. Eastern trade deadline (3 p.m. Central) according to league sources cited by ESPN.
Coach Jim Harbaugh made the same point publicly this week. "I want Khalil Mack here," Harbaugh said. "Khalil Mack wants to be here. He's one of the pillars of our team."
Hard nos on Herbert and McConkey
Calls about quarterback Justin Herbert and wide receiver Ladd McConkey have also been shut down. Sources said those questions have been met with hard nos as Los Angeles refuses to send the message that it has given up on the season.
Mack is on an expiring contract and still plays disruptive football from the edge which made him a logical deadline target. The Chargers instead want him in the building for his talent and leadership through the rest of 2026.
Status quo on a last-place roster
Herbert has thrown 10 interceptions over the first eight weeks and owns a 69.3 passer rating that ranks near the bottom among qualifying quarterbacks. McConkey has just 17 catches in six games.
Los Angeles is averaging a league-low 14.1 points per game. Offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel was retained through the bye and moved from the sideline to the coaching box for Week 9.
The Chargers host the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football next.
