Carlos Alcaraz beats Alex de Minaur in straight sets to win the Vienna Open for his fourth title of 2026
Carlos Alcaraz beat Alex de Minaur 6-1, 6-4 to win the Vienna Open, his fourth title of 2026 and his seventh win in seven meetings with the Australian.

Carlos Alcaraz has a new trophy for the shelf. The Spaniard beat Alex de Minaur 6-1, 6-4 on Sunday to win the Vienna Open.
It is his fourth title of 2026 and the 28th of his career. This year's haul also includes the Australian Open, which completed his career Grand Slam.
Alcaraz is now 7-0 against de Minaur.
A flashy finish
The second seed raced through the first set in a hurry. De Minaur made it closer in the second but never broke through.
Alcaraz sealed it in style. He pulled de Minaur forward with a sliced backhand drop shot, lobbed him with a backhand then clipped a cross-court forehand that landed just in.
He broke into a wide smile as soon as the ball landed.
"I tried to be aggressive and show him that if he wants to win, he has to play better, more aggressive, more solid and be smarter than me," Alcaraz said.
"I'm just really happy that at the end I found my way, played great," he added. "Obviously, it has been a really emotional and amazing week for me."
A tough road to the final
Alcaraz beat Daniil Medvedev in the semifinals to reach the title match.
De Minaur, the fifth seed, got there by beating Alexander Zverev in three sets. He was chasing his second title of the year.
Zverev will still rise to No. 1 in the rankings on Monday.
