Daniil Medvedev is headed back to the ATP Finals. The Russian beat French qualifier Adrian Mannarino 6-2 6-3 on Friday to reach the Vienna Open semifinals and lock up his spot at the season-ending event.

It will be Medvedev's seventh trip to the ATP Finals. He qualified every year from 2019 to 2024 before missing out last year.

The 30-year-old world No. 5 broke Mannarino early and cruised through the first set. He broke again at 3-3 in the second and closed it out with one more break.

Joining the field in Turin

Medvedev joins Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz and Ben Shelton in the eight-man field. Jannik Sinner also qualified but will not play because of injury, which leaves four spots still open.

The tournament runs Nov. 15-22 in Turin. Medvedev won the title in 2020 and reached the final in 2021.

A big bounce-back year

Medvedev has been on a roll. He has won four titles this season, passed 50 wins for the first time since 2023 and has now won seven matches in a row after taking the title in Almaty last week.

"I am happy that I played the important points better and was able to win the match," Medvedev said after the win.

Next up is a semifinal against Alcaraz, who beat Tommy Paul 6-4 7-6(2).
