New court details put a vacuum at the center of the case against Bryce Hall. Mika Lafuente, also known as Maria Palafox, told police a fight over a Roomba turned physical at his home.

What she told police

According to filings she called officers on July 27, 2026, after going to pick up belongings following their breakup. She said she had most of her things and then reached for the robot vacuum. Hall allegedly told her it was staying.

She claimed a verbal argument followed and that he grabbed her, threw her over his shoulder and carried her outside. She alleges he then tossed her onto landscaping rock, leaving small scratches. Photos she provided show marks on her forearm and leg.

Recording and charges

She told police she had started recording before the argument escalated. Officers said the clip captured talk about money and Hall saying he would force her out. She can be heard telling him to slap her; he replies that he will not hit her and that he is going to grab her. Another man shouts not to touch her while she repeatedly yells to be let go.

Hall was arrested and released hours later. Prosecutors charged him with one count of coercion constituting domestic violence involving force or the threat of it and one count of battery constituting domestic violence. He has not been convicted.

His side

A representative for Hall says that after she removed her possessions he asked her to leave more than five times. The rep claims she tried to provoke a fight, put a knife behind her on a table and would not move away from it. Concerned for his safety, the statement says, Hall picked her up and set her outside. The team says it looks forward to court.
