Britt McHenry resigns from her State Department post a day after a drink-throwing clash at a Wizards game
Former sports TV reporter Britt McHenry left her State Department press job after videos showed her throwing a drink at a fan during the Wizards home opener.

Britt McHenry is out of her government job after a heated scene in the stands at a Washington Wizards game. The former sports TV reporter was forced to resign Thursday as a press adviser at the U.S. State Department, according to reports.
Trouble at the home opener
The blowup came during Washington's first home game of the season, a matchup with Milwaukee. Video captured McHenry throwing a drink at someone seated in the crowd.
A second angle shows the moments before. McHenry chats with the man she came with and a stadium worker as the people around her grow hostile. People can be heard calling her "crazy" and "racist." One shouts that "they gotta get her outta here."
Some fans seem to slap hands as she is apparently told to leave her seat. A chant of "Get her out!" breaks out. As she stands up, a person behind her throws a drink her way. McHenry grabs a cup and hurls it right back.
A rough walk out
Boos followed her up the stairs and several fans tossed rally towels at her. She looked unbothered and blew kisses and waved at the crowd. She was later filmed in a back-and-forth with a guard steering her out of the arena.
Her side of the story
Sources close to McHenry say the fight began when people behind her and her guest made inappropriate remarks about model Winnie Harlow. Harlow is engaged to Bucks forward Kyle Kuzma, who used to play for Washington.
Those sources also claim the group hurled misogynistic insults at McHenry to provoke her and threw things at her first. They insist she was not ejected. In their telling she headed off for a drink at the bar and her companion watched the rest of the game. Washington won 128-116.
Her friend Andrew Fenichel posted his own video about the night. He said he wishes he had handled things better.
Short stay in government
McHenry announced in September that she had joined the administration. She was reportedly in line for a promotion before this week.
Before government work she was a national sports TV reporter and later a conservative commentator.
