Anthony Edwards has knee surgery and could miss up to two months for the Timberwolves
Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Thursday and could miss up to two months after a record start to the season.

The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without their best player for a while. Anthony Edwards had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Thursday at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
The team said the procedure was a success. Edwards is expected to make a full recovery but could miss up to two months.
The news comes just days after the best start of his career. Edwards scored 47 points in an overtime loss at Cleveland. His 133 points through four games set a franchise record.
Knee trouble since spring
Edwards is 25 and has dealt with knee pain since last spring. He played a career-low 61 games last season. An MRI on Tuesday showed new damage that led to the surgery.
Team president Tim Connelly said Edwards will be "good as new" when he returns.
Scoring by committee
Coach Chris Finch admitted the news was "a bit of a shock" for the group. He said the Wolves will have to score "by committee" until their star is back.
Minnesota will lean on its depth to stay in the race in a crowded Western Conference. The goal is to have Edwards healthy for the second half of the season.
