Minnesota looked sharp on the road in preseason play.

Anthony Edwards scored 26 points and Jaden McDaniels added 22 as the Timberwolves beat the New York Knicks 122-104 at Madison Square Garden.

Edwards sets the tone

Edwards went 5-of-8 from three-point range and finished as Minnesota's leading scorer. McDaniels complemented him with a strong two-way night on the wing.

Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 20 points in limited minutes. New York could not match Minnesota's shooting or pace after the opening stretch.

Preseason context

Both teams are sorting rotations before the regular season. The Knicks are coming off a busy early exhibition slate and continue to work Brunson and the supporting cast into rhythm.

The Timberwolves used the New York trip to push the pace and get their starters live looks against a physical Eastern Conference opponent.
