Mexican wrestler arrested after a referee dies following a piledriver during a match
Hijo de Fishman faces a culpable homicide charge after 75-year-old referee Gerardo Germán Pineda collapsed in the ring.

A masked wrestler in Mexico has been arrested after a referee died following a piledriver during a match.
Footage from the event shows Hijo de Fishman hoisting veteran official Gerardo Germán Pineda and driving him down onto the canvas. Pineda rolls in apparent pain. Reports say the wrestler later delivered a piledriver. Pineda lost consciousness and was pronounced dead at the venue.
The charge
Authorities took the wrestler into custody and turned him over to prosecutors, who are pursuing a charge of culpable homicide, similar to manslaughter in the U.S.
One onlooker said the wrestler had argued with the official before the move and that people in the crowd at first thought the piledriver was part of the show.
Who he was
Pineda, known as El Búho, was a former wrestler turned referee who had worked in lucha libre for decades. He was 75.
