Six Flags Georgia sticks with its Final Destination haunted maze after the Goliath death
Six Flags Over Georgia says its Final Destination Halloween maze is staying put for Fright Fest even after a rider died on the Goliath coaster this week.

Halloween plans at Six Flags Over Georgia are moving ahead with a horror-movie maze still on the schedule, just days after a deadly accident on one of the park's roller coasters.
The maze stays
The park is not dropping its Fright Fest attraction themed to the Final Destination films. A spokesperson said the seasonal Fright Fest lineup will go on as planned.
The park also stressed that nothing inside the maze recreates a scene set at a theme park.
The Goliath tragedy
The call comes while the park is under intense scrutiny. Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem, 42, died Monday when he was thrown from the Goliath coaster.
Officials say he hit other riders as he fell and ended up underneath the ride. Several other guests were hurt. Investigators are still working out exactly what went wrong.
Why the timing stands out
The Final Destination movies built their following on everyday outings that turn deadly. The third film in the series opens with a gruesome roller coaster crash.
That history makes the park's choice hard to ignore as it gets ready to welcome Halloween crowds. For many in the amusement park world the real loss on Goliath casts a far heavier shadow than any staged scare.
