Front-row footage shows what riders face on the Goliath coaster in Georgia
A front-seat view of Goliath at Six Flags Over Georgia shows the slow climb plus the 175-foot drops riders face days after a man died on the ride.

A ride-along video shot from the very first seat of Goliath shows how wild the giant Georgia coaster can get.
The ride
The clip puts viewers in the first row. The train creeps up a towering lift hill before the track falls away and the cars dive toward the ground.
After that comes drop after drop. Tight turns and wide curves give riders a high look down over the park.
By the numbers
According to Six Flags, the steel coaster is 200 feet tall and tops out at 70 mph. Its biggest drop is 175 feet. Riders also go through a 540-degree spiral and feel forces of up to 4 Gs.
Goliath opened at the Georgia park in 2006 and has long ranked among its top thrill rides.
The deadly fall
The footage surfaced days after Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem died Monday when he was ejected from the ride. He was 42. His death set off an investigation and led to the temporary closure of several similar coasters.
