Savannah Guthrie is pleading with the public once again for any tip that could explain what happened to her mother, Nancy Guthrie. The morning show host says her family is stuck in place until they get answers.

In a heartfelt Instagram post on Sunday morning, she shared a picture of a painting made by her daughter Vale. The artwork carries the words, "I know it might not seem like it but I really need my mommy."

'It never will be'

"It says so much about how I feel," Savannah wrote. "The world goes on, things appear 'normal' - as we try to keep going and be strong, especially for our young kids - but it's not and it never will be."

She said everyone in the family is hurting. "We ache for her, we cry out for answers, we cannot move forward. We need someone to help us, tell us what you know."

Savannah added that the family wants to honor Nancy properly. "We want to celebrate her and give her the dignity she deserves. The reward is still available. Please. We are begging you. Please help us."

Where the investigation stands

The plea came just 24 hours after Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos offered a fresh update. He said the task force "continues to work with our labs in hopes of furthering our DNA analysis in this investigation."

Nanos also revealed that his investigators made a trip to Florida in October. They met with scientists there to find new ways to advance the case.

One supposed ransom note reached a woman who is friends with Nancy. According to reports, detectives doubt it is real.

Nancy has been missing since she was taken from her home in the early morning hours of Feb. 1. Nobody has been named as a suspect. A doorbell camera captured a masked intruder before the abduction. Several ransom notes have since surfaced.
