Sarah Paulson paused on Sunday to remember Diane Keaton. One year after Keaton's death the actress posted a happy old photo of the two of them sharing a big laugh.

A winter snapshot

The picture went up on Paulson's Instagram. It shows Paulson and Keaton bundled up in winter coats with Keaton's daughter Dexter White right beside them.

Keaton has one hand thrown up in the air. Paulson is doubled over with laughter next to her and all three look like they are having the time of their lives.

A few words from the heart

Paulson kept her message brief. She wrote that it was hard to believe a full year had passed and that laughing with Keaton is the memory she will hold on to most. She signed off by telling her late friend she loves her.

Friends for more than 20 years

The pair grew close while making the 1999 film "The Other Sister." What began on that set turned into a friendship that lasted well over two decades.

Just days after Keaton died Paulson spoke about her with obvious emotion. She called Keaton a dear friend and said the woman behind the famous roles was even more wonderful in person than fans ever saw on screen.

Remembering Diane

Keaton died on Oct. 11, 2025 at the age of 79. Her family later shared that pneumonia was the cause.

A year on Paulson made it clear which memories she treasures. For her it all comes back to the laughter.
