Cindy Crawford shared a monochrome image of her late son Presley Gerber wearing angel wings and wrote that the family is "beyond heartbroken."

Cindy Crawford has shared a public tribute to her son Presley Gerber, who died at 27.
A photo with angel wings
On Sunday the supermodel put up a monochrome image of Presley on Instagram. In it he seems to have angel wings. She wrote that the family is "beyond heartbroken" over losing him.
Crawford said the family felt lucky to have had Presley with them for 27 years. She called him a sweet and beautiful soul who loved others and is loved by them.
She added that the family is proud of how Presley lived. She pointed in particular to his kindness and his openness about his feelings.
Thanks for the support
Crawford thanked everyone who has sent the family love during this painful stretch. That included strangers who wrote to offer condolences.
The post ended with a goodbye from the three people closest to him. It came from Crawford, from his dad Rande and from his sister Kaia. It was signed "Mom, Dad and Kaia." Kaia reposted her mother's message. Rande shared the same post on his own account.
What is known about his death
Presley died on September 20 at a sober-living home in Santa Monica. He had checked in only hours earlier.
Investigators believe an overdose may be to blame. They do not suspect foul play. His autopsy is done, but the official cause of death has been deferred while the investigation continues.
For years Presley was candid in public about battling addiction and mental health problems.
