Roseanne Barr returns to TV in "Meemaw" eight years after her sitcom was canceled
The eight-episode comedy about a family of Texas preppers co-stars Randy Quaid, with Tony Hinchcliffe in a guest spot.

Roseanne Barr is back on screen with a new comedy series.
Barr has wrapped production on "Meemaw," an eight-episode series said to follow a multiracial Texas family preparing for doomsday. She plays the matriarch, who is set on throwing her granddaughter the biggest bat mitzvah Texas has ever seen.
The cast
Instagram star Indy Bugg plays the granddaughter. Barr praised the young performer and said viewers will see her star power in her first scene. Randy Quaid also stars. Tony Hinchcliffe, recently criticized over a George Floyd joke he told at a roast of Kevin Hart, turns up in a guest role.
The backstory
ABC pulled the plug on the "Roseanne" revival in 2018 when Barr tweeted a racist remark aimed at Valerie Jarrett, who advised President Obama. The new project is being viewed as the start of a comeback.
Barr says her goal is for relatives on opposite sides to watch together and laugh at themselves.
