Sources say RJ Mitte's fiancée pressed him to pick between her and his mother
People close to RJ Mitte's family say fiancée Kennedy Suarez wanted him to choose her over his mother Dyna in the weeks before his death.

In the days before RJ Mitte died, he was reportedly caught in a painful tug-of-war between the woman he planned to marry and his mother.
Tension at home
Several people close to the Mitte family say his fiancée Kennedy Suarez had grown frustrated with what she saw as interference from his mom, Dyna. According to those sources, the two women did not get along and Suarez wanted Mitte to side with her.
Mitte was deeply attached to his mother and his sister Lacianne. The sources say he would not cut Dyna out of his life, which created real strain with Suarez.
A long friendship turned romance
The couple were friends for a decade before they started dating in 2020. They became engaged on Oct. 10, 2025, just shy of one year before he died.
The pair were reportedly still a couple one week before he died. Whether they split in his final days is not clear. Sources say the relationship troubles weighed on him in his last weeks and that he was visibly upset.
Neither Suarez nor the family has publicly addressed the claims.
His death and memorial
Mitte was found dead Monday in Texas. A county official said he died by suicide. He was 34.
Fans and friends can honor him Friday in Brownsville at the arts center that carries his family's name.
