A young mother who was about to have a baby is among the people killed in Friday night's mass shooting in Erie, Pennsylvania. Her two small children died with her.
A family lost
Angelina Stone was 24. A recent post on her social media said she was expecting a son she planned to name Kyrie. His due date was October 14.
Her 5-year-old son Isiah also died in the attack. So did her daughter Amari'anna, who would soon have turned 2.
People close to the family describe Stone as a devoted mom. Relatives have talked openly about their grief. An online fundraiser has been set up to cover the funeral expenses.
What happened on Perry Road
Gunfire was reported Friday evening on Perry Road. Witnesses reportedly saw a man firing outside a house before he walked inside.
Police and a SWAT unit set up a perimeter and tried to talk the man into giving up. When officers eventually went into the house they found more victims.
Early reports put the death toll at nine. That count includes two children as well as the suspected shooter. Authorities say he appears to have taken his own life.
Police Chief Rick Lorah called what officers found "deeply disturbing." Investigators are still working to learn why the killings happened.
No motive has been confirmed. Officials have also not publicly named the suspect.
