Oklahoma came into the Red River Rivalry unranked with two losses. It left Dallas on Saturday with a 27-24 win over the No. 1 team in the country.

Special teams and defense lead the way

The Sooners opened the game with five straight three-and-outs and did not get a first down until the second quarter. A blocked punt returned for a touchdown got them going.

Texas led 17-10 at the half. In the fourth quarter Peyton Bowen picked off Arch Manning and ran it back 42 yards for a score. It was the first pick-six of Manning's college career.

A walk-off kick

Oklahoma won it on a field goal as time ran out. John Mateer completed 18 of 26 passes for 155 yards and did not turn the ball over.

It was Oklahoma's first win over a top-ranked Texas team ever and its first win in the series since 2023.
