Brother of O.J. Simpson associate Joey Ippolito says he came home bloody the night Nicole and Ron were killed
A new investigation says Joey Ippolito, a drug trafficker with ties to O.J. Simpson, came home with bloody hands and a bag his brother dumped in 1994.

More than three decades after Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman were killed, a new investigation points to a man in O.J. Simpson's orbit who was never called as a witness.
Who is Joey Ippolito
The New York Times looked into Joseph "Joey" Ippolito. Ippolito has a drug trafficking conviction and was reportedly connected to Simpson. He also worked as an informant for the government.
A brother's account
Joey's brother Sam told the paper that Joey walked into the house on the night of the 1994 killings with blood on his hands. He was also carrying a heavy bag.
Sam says Joey put his clothes into that bag. Joey then went to shower and told Sam to dispose of the bag. Sam told the Times he threw the bag in a dumpster by a construction site on Doheny Drive.
Sam never found out what the bag held. Neither the prosecution nor the defense put Joey or Sam on the stand during the murder case.
What federal records suggest
The paper also reviewed federal files. They suggest Ippolito gave investigators information about Simpson as well as the murder weapon. That weapon has never turned up.
Nothing in the report has been proven. One former prosecutor who dealt with Ippolito told the paper he doubts Ippolito was part of the killings. Ippolito has not been charged with any crime connected to the case.
Where the case stands
A jury acquitted Simpson of both murders in 1995. A civil jury later found him liable for the deaths. He died in 2024.
The LAPD told the Times the case is still open because nobody has been convicted. A department spokesman said detectives will follow up on any new leads if more evidence comes to light.
