"American Idol" alum Caleb Flynn appears in his first prison photo after a murder conviction
Flynn is serving life without parole for killing his wife Ashley. New images show him in a state prison jumpsuit.

A new photo offers the first look at former "American Idol" contestant Caleb Flynn behind bars since a jury found him guilty of killing his wife.
In the image he wears a white shirt under a blue prison jumpsuit and faces the camera against a yellow backdrop.
The conviction
Flynn was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole for killing his wife, Ashley Flynn. According to prosecutors, he killed her with two gunshots and then tried to make it appear that an intruder had broken into the home.
He was having an affair at the time. According to trial evidence, he told his mistress the night before the killing that he chose her and that actions would come the next day.
His daughters' words
Letters from his daughters were read at sentencing. His older daughter Alyssa said she will not visit him in prison. Local Ohio outlets reported Thursday that he had been transferred into state custody to begin the sentence.
