Trump aides joke Nicki Minaj should take over as White House press secretary
After Katie Zacharia's firing, Steven Cheung and Alex Bruesewitz floated Nicki Minaj for White House press secretary as she rode on Air Force One.

The White House needs a new press secretary after Katie Zacharia was let go. A pair of Trump staffers think they know who should get the job: Nicki Minaj.
White House Communications Director Steven Cheung posted a clip of the rapper praising President Donald Trump's foreign policy while on board Air Force One. "Ladies and gentlemen, I think we may have found the new White House Press Secretary!" he wrote.
The replies
The official White House account answered with an emoji of a pair of eyes. Trump adviser Alex Bruesewitz then jumped in to ask her fans, "Hey Barbz, what do we think about this idea??"
Minaj weighed in too. She replied with an American flag and the grinning face with a bead of sweat, an emoji often used for nervous laughter.
Joke or job offer?
Nobody has said whether the idea is serious. For her part Minaj seemed more excited about the flight itself. She posted her own video on X as she turned the camera to take in the plane's roomy interior with obvious amazement.
Minaj was scheduled to join Trump on stage in Port Huron, Michigan, later that evening.
