Michael Carrick set to stay in charge for Man United's Bournemouth game after a 4-1 Champions League loss at Como
United are seven games without a win and the club says it cannot wait long for results. Bruno Fernandes' postgame criticism is under review.

Michael Carrick is expected to be on the touchline when Manchester United host Bournemouth on Sunday, according to reports, even as pressure on his job mounts after a 4-1 loss at Como in the Champions League on Wednesday.
United are seven games without a win and have only one Premier League victory this season. Carrick signed a two-year contract in May, but club leaders accept that a change will come if results do not turn around quickly. There is also said to be sympathy inside the club for the spot he is in.
Senior staff were reportedly shocked by the performance at Como and felt only halftime substitute Amad Diallo came out of it with any credit. United's players were given Thursday off and return to training Friday.
A night to forget at Lake Como
Nico Paz scored inside two minutes with a curling shot from the edge of the box. Anastasios Douvikas and Paz again struck early in the second half and center back Jacobo Ramón headed in a fourth before Joshua Zirkzee pulled one back in stoppage time.
Como, coached by former Arsenal and Barcelona star Cesc Fàbregas, are playing in Europe for the first time in their 119-year history. The win lifted them to sixth in the league phase while United fell to 20th.
"I 100% take responsibility for the overall team and the performance. That's where it stops. It stops with me," Carrick said after the game. He walked over to the traveling fans at full time with his hands raised in apology. "There are no excuses at all. It's just not acceptable."
Captain's criticism under review
Captain Bruno Fernandes was substituted in the 67th minute and appeared to criticize Carrick's tactics afterward. The club is weighing whether to act on his comments. He is the second senior player in two weeks to turn on club staff after Lisandro Martínez criticized director of football Jason Wilcox and the board, then apologized and was fined.
