Marcus was 24 when the lawn business he describes had a real client list. He had moved from Montana to Washington looking for work and started as a crew member.

He climbed from that job at Augusta Lawn Care into his own Redmond route. He says he did it without paying the typical $24,000 franchise fee, using about $55,000 in savings and door hangers for the first customers.

The first six months ate the savings while the list grew from zero. He says the business is projected around $650,000 for 2025, with a weekly pace he has put near $28,000 once the route was full.

Door hangers and a shrinking savings account

The Upflip episode stays on those six months, when the money went out faster than the yards came in. He talks about a system he could repeat only after the first clients stuck.

The revenue figure is his projection and his account. The start was a crew job and a move west.
