Katie Zacharia steps out for a California walk days after losing the press secretary job

Katie Zacharia is not hiding out after her quick exit from the White House. The former press secretary was seen getting some exercise in her first public appearance since she was fired.

Out for a walk

She was spotted on Tuesday strolling through her neighborhood in California. Her outfit was red, white and blue. She paired red leggings with a blue sports bra plus tube socks and sneakers.

Zacharia wore her long blond hair in a braid draped over one shoulder. She kept her gaze down for much of the walk.

A five-day tenure

She lost the job on Friday after just five days and a single news conference. The firing came while a reporter was in the middle of interviewing her.

Her short stint was marked by claims that she was a lawyer that turned out to be untrue, a rough appearance on Sean Hannity's TV show and at least one occasion when she declined to take questions from reporters.

There have also been rumors that White House chief of staff Susie Wiles arranged for Hannity to take her down, with one report calling it a "sanctioned hit." Hannity's team has denied that Wiles had any influence on the segment.

The same day she was seen out walking, President Donald Trump had his own run-in with the press. He snapped at a reporter he thought had asked a question out of turn in the Oval Office.
