Another person from Kate Gosselin's past is stepping forward with claims about how she treated her son Collin.

A woman named Ashley says she cleaned house for the reality star in 2013 and sometimes filled in as a nanny, according to reports. She alleges she saw Kate grab Collin again and again.

"She 110 percent abused Collin," Ashley claimed. She added that the dislike Kate seemed to have for the boy was something "you could just feel."

Life inside the house

Ashley says Kate often yanked Collin out of his seat at the kitchen table. She describes a rigid home where toys were always put away.

To keep washing to a minimum each child allegedly got just a couple of outfits to wear to class every week.

The red spoon

She also says she came across a big red plastic spoon tucked in a drawer. One of the children allegedly told her their mom used it when she got mad.

"That red spoon has haunted me for a long time," Ashley said.

Reporting to the county

Ashley says she quit after six months. Worried about how the children were being treated she allegedly filed a report about Kate with the county's child welfare office in Berks County.

She says other people reported Kate too. She is speaking up now to back Collin, whose memoir "In the Shadow of Eight" lays out his own claims of physical and emotional abuse.

"I am so incredibly proud of Collin and hope he feels validated," she said.

Kate's side

Back in 2024 Kate's attorney Richard Puleo said he did not believe she ever set out to hurt Collin. In his view she was only looking out for herself and her household.

Kate's lawyer and the county agency have not responded to requests for comment.
