Jodie Sweetin recalls ducking gunfire in a limo while Bob Saget was inside a restaurant
The Full House actress says shots hit a limo she sat in before a Janet Jackson show in the early 1990s. Bob Saget had gotten the kids their tickets.

Jodie Sweetin has a childhood story that is hard to top. The actress says she lived through a drive-by shooting during a night out with her late TV dad Bob Saget.
What happened that night
Sweetin told a photographer at LAX that it happened in the early 1990s at Ed Debevic's, the restaurant on La Cienega Boulevard in Los Angeles. A small group of kids was sitting in a limo, set to go see Janet Jackson in concert, when shots rang out.
Sweetin says Candace Cameron Bure's sister was in the limo with her along with one more young person. Saget and the other grown-ups were still in the restaurant. The kids jumped out of the car and rushed into the restaurant where they were safe.
She first told the tale on stage at 90s Con during a panel that reunited the Full House cast. She said she had bent down to tie her shoes at the very moment bullets broke the car window.
A big music fan
Sweetin had only warm words for Saget. She says he was crazy about music and would often swap notes with castmates about live shows and fresh albums. He got the group tickets to see Jackson at The Forum.
Back then her mom rarely let her out without a parent. This was among the first outings where no parent came along. Sweetin joked that the night probably did not help Saget's standing with her mother. Even so, Sweetin says her mother had faith in Saget, who never failed to take care of her.
