The Jets will lean on Braelon Allen again and get a boost at receiver.

Running back Breece Hall was ruled out for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots with a quadriceps injury. It will be his third straight missed game. Wide receiver Adonai Mitchell is also out for a fourth straight week after a finger procedure last month.

Cooper is back

Rookie wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. practiced fully on Friday and will be activated from injured reserve. The first-round pick has not played since Week 1 when he tore up a high-ankle sprain on the opening drive. He managed a 30-yard catch in that debut before leaving.

Coach Aaron Glenn said Cooper brings the catch-and-run plays the Jets expect from him. With Mitchell still sidelined Garrett Wilson has carried most of the receiving load with 31 catches. Tight end Kenyon Sadiq practiced fully and is finishing concussion protocol after leaving last week's win over Cleveland.

Allen carries the load

Without Hall the Jets again turn to Braelon Allen who rushed for a career-high 116 yards last week. Offensive coordinator Frank Reich said the club believes it has one of the best one-two combinations in the league when both are healthy.

Defense takes a hit too

Edge rusher Joseph Ossai will miss a third game with an ankle injury. Left guard Dylan Parham is also out for a third straight week with a knee injury. The Jets are 2-3 heading into a division game against New England.
